On the morning of November 2, Chen Jiachang, Vice Minister of Science and Technology, along with Dai Gang, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, visited the China-CEEC Innovation Cooperation Research Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Research Center”) for an inspection and research. The visit was attended by Xu Yan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor of Ningbo; Lou Xuejun, Deputy Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology; Fei Xiaochen, Director and Party Secretary of the Ningbo Municipal Science and Technology Bureau; and Chen Shanfu, Deputy Director and Party Member of the Ningbo Municipal Science and Technology Bureau. Feng Jianbo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningbo University of Technology, and Zhang Shuichao, Vice President of the university, accompanied the inspection.

During the exchange symposium, Feng Jianbo provided a detailed introduction to the latest developments and achievements of the university in disciplinary construction, talent cultivation, and international exchange and cooperation. He emphasized that the university has always placed great importance on and supported the construction of the Research Center and will continue to rely on the Research Center to further deepen regional cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries.

Wang Bo, Executive Director of the Research Center, delivered a thematic report on the progress in the Research Center’s construction, phased achievements, future development plans, and its role as a bridge and platform in scientific and technological innovation cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.

Fei Xiaochen expressed gratitude for the long-term strong support from the Ministry of Science and Technology. He stated that further efforts would be made to solidly advance the construction of the Research Center, continuously enhance the level of research and cooperation, and contribute more to deepening scientific and technological cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.

Chen Jiachang fully affirmed the achievements made by the university and the Research Center. He emphasized that China-CEEC cooperation is an important part of the country’s strategy for opening up, and scientific and technological innovation is a key driving force to elevate this cooperation to a higher level. He set clear requirements and expectations for the next phase of the Research Center’s work: First, maintain a strategic focus, continuously concentrating on the main line of cooperation, and steadily strengthening the research foundation; Second, strive to build a brand image, adhering to the development direction of a think tank, further expanding the scale of research, and enhancing the research capacity; Third, promote the practical application of research results in serving industrial development, boosting production capacity and technological upgrading, and achieving effective connection and value transformation from research to industry.

Xu Yan expressed sincere gratitude for the long-term care and support from the Ministry of Science and Technology for the development of scientific and technological innovation in Ningbo, especially for the guidance and assistance in international scientific and technological cooperation, exchange, and research platform construction. He pointed out that Ningbo, as a “bridgehead” for China-CEEC cooperation, has a solid and profound foundation for cooperation. He stated that the municipal party committee and government will continue to fully support the construction and development of the Research Center and conscientiously implement various guidance opinions. The Research Center will closely align with national strategic needs, serve the overall situation of external work, solidly advance relevant efforts, and help Ningbo play a greater role in serving the country’s overall strategy.
